My favorite restaurant in the greater Daytona area. Crab legs are worth a drive, along with a number of their pasta dishes. Solid vibes all around.
We ate there two times and had lobster, fish and kids food. All were delicious!!! The workers there are all super helpful and friendly! They play music there and make it fun for all!!!
Stopped by for a quick bite. The place was slammed and my husband loves the Oyster Rockefeller. For me it's not a place I want to go to, not enough diabetic food options and I never eat that much. It's a little pricey.
Very cool surf and fishing themed restaurant and bar up by the beach. The service was good and very friendly. The food was alright nothing crazy and slightly overcooked.
We made a quick last minute decision to go to riptides and I'm so happy we did! The service was great, the food was just as good and the drinks were strong. We had a wonderful time! The coconut cay mahi was incredible and so were the coconut shrimp. During happy hour make sure to get a 32oz beer, you keep the glass and if you come back with a picture of your glass you get the next beer 1/2 off during happy hour! Such a cool beachside place, not to crowned or busy at all.
Wanted to do something new for Lunch & decided on Riptides ‼‼ Tried the fried plantains & potato swirls as appetizers. The shrimp avocado salad with added steak tips for main course !! Our server /bartender Sandra was exceptional ‼ Definitely will be back !
Good value and great location Great stuffed pineapple entry Fabulous spring roll appetizer
This place was highly reviewed by a friend so we had to try it. Tried to get in several spots but there was no parking, or at least it was full on the beach side and seemed like no spots on the condo side. We finally got there one night and found a spot, and was told a 30 min wait. 12 mins later we were seated inside, in front of a huge projector showing body surfing. The waitress seemed pissed the entire time, and I think it was because she was running around non stop. Every refill or other request took 5 mins and then dessert was a 10-15 min wait. I got the hurricane Mac n cheese and it was amazing. I think 90% of people got crab legs so that's probably the thing to get. We tried the key lime pie and it was terrible. A bit of a mixed bag but I would try it again.
Ordered: Royal Red Shrimp (~$14) Half Dozen Raw Oysters (~$14) The Beach Break (~$32): fried grouper and shrimp, fries, hush puppies, and coleslaw Riptide Mixed Grill (~$27): shrimp and steak tips skewered with onions and peppers, topped with lemon beurre blanc, over yellow rice Aya's take: Fresh seafood with tons of variety and a no frills eatery on Ormond Beach. We stopped by for lunch and were impressed with how fresh everything tasted. I highly recommend The Beach Break; the grouper was flaky and tender and the shrimp was very fresh. The Mixed Grill was also a solid choice with tons of flavor. And you can't go wrong with a few seafood starters. Definitely a spot to check out if you're in the area.
We were looking for an oyster bar in Daytona beach so I picked this one out. It's on the street side next to the beach so not the best of the best location compared to some of the beach view options, but the outside patio is still really pleasant regardless of the cars rumbling down the avenue. I split the grouper with my dad. The veggies were great since it's not always easy to get veggie meals in the south. So that was much needed and felt good to my body. The coconut rice was yummy and a fun touch and the grouper was cooked perfectly. Flakey and flavorful. It was a well rounded meal and very enjoyable, and not super filling when split. I also had a side of sweet potato fries and I wish they had cooked then a bit more, they were still elasticy and not so warm and crisp: looked like they came from a store bought bag. My husband had grouper and shrimp and hush puppies. The hush puppies were really good and he got the seafood Caribbean style which he really enjoyed. Overall it was a solid and well balanced meal.
